Duty Rating Breakdown
Type I (Heavy Duty): 250 pounds for light industrial use.
Type IA (Extra Heavy Duty): 300 pounds. Most popular for commercial construction.
Type IAA (Extra Extra Heavy Duty): 375 pounds for heavy industrial and maximum safety.
How to Choose
Add body weight plus tools. Choose a rating exceeding your total by at least 50 pounds. Most DFW contractors choose Type IA (300 lb). Industrial facilities choose Type IAA (375 lb).
