1. Always Lock the Casters

It sounds simple, but many accidents happen because a worker tries to climb the tower before all four wheels are locked. Before stepping onto the first rung, ensure the locking mechanisms are fully engaged to prevent the tower from shifting.

2. Respect the Load Capacity

Most standard Baker sets are rated for 1,000 lbs. While this sounds like a lot, that weight includes the user, their tools, and all materials. If you are stacking heavy buckets of joint compound or masonry supplies, monitor your total weight to avoid structural strain.

3. Never Move the Scaffold with Workers on Top

OSHA is strict about this: the tower must be unoccupied before it is moved. Trying to "scoot" the scaffold while standing on the platform is a leading cause of tipping. Get down, move the tower, lock the wheels, and then resume work.

4. Use Guardrails on High Towers
