Scaffold Casters and Leveling Jacks Guide
Keep Your Scaffold Level and Mobile with Casters and Leveling Jacks
Every scaffold needs to be level and stable before the first worker steps on it. Scaffold casters and leveling jacks are the foundation of a safe rolling scaffold setup. At Dallas Ladder in Rowlett, TX, we carry a full range of scaffold accessories to keep your equipment OSHA compliant.
Scaffold Casters for Mobility
Heavy-duty scaffold casters allow you to move your scaffold tower easily across the jobsite. Look for casters with locking brakes on both wheel and swivel for maximum stability. We carry casters rated for up to 1,000 lbs per caster for frame scaffolding and system scaffolding.
Swivel Casters: Standard 5-inch and 8-inch swivel casters with dual locking brakes for wheel and swivel. Compatible with most scaffold frames.
Rigid Casters: Fixed-direction casters for straight-line movement. Often used on the back legs of a scaffold tower for better tracking.
Leveling Jacks for Uneven Ground
Screw jacks and adjustment legs let you level your scaffold on slopes, curbs, and uneven terrain. OSHA requires scaffolds to be set on base plates or casters with leveling capability on any surface that is not perfectly flat.
Safety Tips
Always lock all caster brakes before climbing. Never move a scaffold with workers or materials on the platform. Check that leveling jacks have at least 3 inches of thread engaged in the frame leg at all times.
